Recommended Dietary Allowance: The National Research Council has stated that one to two milligrams of copper per day is safe for adults. It's also felt that most adults ingest approximately 2.5 to 5 milligrams daily in our diets.

Therapeutic Dose: Two to five or more milligrams are recommended. But scientists and doctors generally agree that supplements of copper should be used very sparingly, since immoderate doses of sulfate can be poisonous.

Megadose: Five milligrams or more are recommended.
