A novile (also called a nonagon or a nonagen) is a minor aspect of 40°, created by subdividing a circle (360°) into nine equal parts. According to Emma Belle Donath, noviles refer to the activity of "brooding," both physical and mental. Noviles are given an orb of influence of 1-2°.

Early seventeenth-century portrait of Nostradamus, likely more famous today for his prognostications than during his lifetime. Reproduced by permission of Fortean Picture Library.
